Kiran Kumar K. Salagame, PhD (India)

Dr Kiran K Salagame is a clinical psychologist and a former professor of Psychology at the University of Mysore. He taught meditation and studied meditators as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Saybrook Graduate School in 1990 at San Francisco and published a monograph The Psychology of Meditation- A contextual approach, based on his work. He was awarded Senior Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Social Sciences Research, New Delhi to write a book on “Indian perspectives and approaches to Psychology”(2013-15). He was a Fulbright Nehru Visiting Lecturer Fellow in 2011 at the Central University of Arkansas, USA. He was awarded an Honorary Professorship and an honorary membership of the International Academy for Yoga Teacher Training and its Scientific Board in, Belgrade, Serbia, in 2001. He was presented with “Psycho-Award” in 2006 for his distinguished contributions to the field by the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists. He served as the Associate Editor of Psychological Studies and has been on the Editorial boards of many national and international journals and has reviewed articles for APA publications. He has contributed chapters to edited volumes published by Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Pearson, Springer, and Wiley-Blackwell.  He has visited Bahrain, Canada, Russia, Serbia, Uganda, UK and USA to attend conferences and/or to give lectures.
